In Path of Terraria there are 3 attributes in total that can be obtained.
Attributes can be obtained through Gear, or the Passive Tree System.
You can view how much you have of each of these attributes in the character information panel.
Certain pieces of gear might have a requirement to them which must be met or exceeded before being able to equip the item

+1% Attack Speed Per 10 Points
+5 Mana Per 10 Points
